The Grammy’s was last night and I must say… yawn-licious. I was underwhelmed at the show and the red carpet. I say it every year that it’s my last time watching and I hope I listen to myself next year. Missing on the red carpet -Pink, Christina Agularia, Beyonce, J.Lo- the BIG stars that really bring fashion.

My top best dressed? Rihanna and Amber Rose.

At first I didn’t like Rihanna’s dress but after mulling over the pictures, I changed my mind. While it was very simple, it was VERY sexy and her jewelry choices set it off.

Amber Rose face was beat! The yellow dress complimented her tone very nicely and it was a MAJOR upgrade from that awful green make-up and leopard print dress at the Clive Davis party on Saturday.

Fergie- meh! Nude undies instead?
Katy P- don’t hate it, don’t love it… it’s a pass
Kelly- meh. I saw her try on better choices on Access Hollywood
Melanie Fiona- Summer picnic anyone?

Feast on Fashion at the Elysian with Sarca

On Thursday I attended Feast on Fashion at the Elysian hotel with boutique Sarca. Attending with me were Ashley of Stiletto Chic and Curvatude. I must say this event is one I look forward to and am always anticipating since my introduction in October. The Elysian doesn’t know when the next event will be but it seems to occur every two months.

Sarca, Gold Coast boutique that boast high designers like Camilla Skovgaard, Mara Hoffman, Alice by Temperly and more -put on a fashion show that showcased spring/summer looks while we noshed on a cheese and meat plate, cauliflower soup and a choice of cobia fish, chicken salad or beet salad. Of course I selected the Cobia fish again. At the end we received gift bags with a bracelet from Damen + Division jewelry!

Today Walgreens will open the Loop flagship store on 151 N. State St which boast nail and eyebrow bars, a cafe with fresh-brewed coffee, breads and pastries; a juice, sushi and smoothie bar and wine! A girls’ dream!

Also another two-story Walgreens will open at the old Borders location at 2817 N. Clark St.

Sprinkles Cupcakes has just launched a new flavor - S'more from now until February 6th in partnership with Blake Lively (above), using her favorite ingredients.

It is a S'more graham cracker-lined Belgian dark chocolate cake filled with bittersweet chocolate ganache and topped with toasted marshmallow frosting.

Revelations and Resolutions with blogger Necole Bitchie

In December, I went to a X Rated Liqueur party and was able to interview the fabulous blogger and entrepreneur Necole Bitchie. Though I was only able to get a couple questions in she made me think. When it comes to me and my 'brand' as well as what I am striving to be.

If you have been following me since day one, you would know it started in 2007. I was receiving a host of information and I wanted to share with more than just friends and family. I started blogging and it led to a ton of opportunities.

Have I evolved in blogging and writing? Yes but for me- not a 360. Talking to Necole I realized that I have not reached my full potential , I have not fully embraced my ideas. As Necole said, I have sat by and let others success be enough for me as well as block my own blessings.

I haven't thought about the ideas and dreams that I have put on the back burner simply because I am content and maybe a little afraid. Can someone be afraid of success? Can someone be afraid of failure? We see it every day.

I love blogging and will continue to love it but there is more for me. I wouldn't put myself through the next three years of school just for fun. I've always had a dream of having a magazine, writing professionally as well as founding something that will help all the other talented people I know.

I have always had ideas and never took the reins fully just to see someone else take action and have major success with the same idea.

Talking to Necole has awoken dreams that were forgotten.

I'm writing this because of a change for 2012 that I want. It starts with being more open and sharing. Because if you are close to me you know, a blog this personal would never happen in a million years. I am very private and very guarded but a change has to come!

I'm looking for to my future classes that will put the tools in my hands to help me achieve my goals as well as networking more.

2012 is all or nothing for me. I'm going to do the whole stepping out more, more camera work, more acting, just anything that comes my way. I have turned down so much stuff in 2011. Acting roles, auditions, and hosting spots. All these big opportunities and I think it was because I surrounded myself with a lot of talented people and felt like some of those people were more talented. But people wanted me because of the audience and the brand. You can’t do that because you block your own blessings. I may also do a docu-series, who knows. Whatever come my way, I'm just going to go with the flow.

MWC: What do you see is next for bloggers?

I feel like it’s so saturated right now, especially being a new blogger. It’s just so hard now, how to compete with people who have been on the scene. Bloggers are starting to do their own media companies. Media Take Out as their own dating show, Bossip has their five minutes clips of interviews, web series.

Everyone is doing the media production company on the web. That's the natural route.

Isabel Marant VS Ash sneakers

I have been in love with the Isabel Marant sneakers since seeing Tracee Ellis Ross (above) rocking them. They are a designer suede sneaker that boost a 3’ wedge on the inside of the shoe.

I admit, I am not a sneaker fiend per se but I do love a unique shoe, but once I found out they hit the 700 range, I almost swallowed my tongue. They would be cute for when you want to be stylish yet comfortable or mix up your wardrobe like the girl above with her fur and Marant’s.

I have had my BeBe rhinestone blazer for about five years. I originally purchased it to wear to a NYE celebration and since then I have tried to incorporate it into my wardrobe because I feel it is so unique.

This past Friday I went out to celebrate a birthday and decided that I wanted to wear the jacket but how to put a twist on it?

Originally I wanted a neon bow tie to go with some other items in my closet but haven been able to find it. So I decided to get a black and white stripped tie to go with my jacket and jeans combo.

I found it at American Apparel! Why didn't I think of them in the first place?

What do you guys think? Yay or nay?

Rent the Runway party with CBN

Last Tuesday I was invited as part of Chicago Blogger Network to party at Maxine Salon with Rent the Runway (RTR). Bloggers enjoyed appetizers, wine and chatted with RTR.

I became familiar with them when they first premiered in 2009. Rent the Runway is a website that lets you rent the hottest dresses for a fraction of the price.

You sign up for an account, browse the site, add favorites to your account and rent for 4 to 8 days. RTR takes care of the postage and the dry cleaning.

If you are always out on the town and have events, this is an easy and affordable way to always be stylish.

RTR also has jewelry and accessory rentals and sell cosmetics.

I will be renting soon, and of course I will let you know how my experience was!

Earlier that day some members (including Dee Dee above) were on Windy City Live showcasing looks from RTR and the next day on WGN morning show.

The RTR and CBN party will be seen on NBC's 24/7 that will air 1-8-11 at 12:30 a.m. How fab!

Chicago Blogger Network party recap

Last Wednesday Nov 2, I attended the first Chicago Blogger Network party.

Chicago Blogger Network (CBN) is is an organization dedicated to educating, showcasing and creating opportunities for fashion and pop culture bloggers based in and around Chicago through creative partnerships, brand integration, sponsorship and more.

The event was held at Tribute in the Essex Inn where members mingled to get to know each other.

I had to look up the venue three times! I did not know that Essex Inn offered a cool space for wining and dining. I was very impressed. The bloggers munched on passed appetizers and of course drinks. We put faces to Twitter names and fab footwear to their Tumblr. I met cool new bloggers and now have more blogs to read!

Browsing Twitter one night I ran across a tweet from Elysian Chicago about, “Feast on Fashion with Ferragamo” hosted in their Balsan Restaurant. I was so excited! Not only was it during my birthday weekend it but it was also fashion and food. The best of both worlds.

Arriving on that warm Thursday afternoon, I was greeted with the chatter of woman and food. The table was elegantly set and the menu boosted a selection of cheeses, meats and entrees.

We shared a plate of cheeses and meat (Charcuterie & Cheese), then moved on to the squash soup, which the best soup a girl could ask for and finally I choose the grilled Cobia.

As we mingled, models walked through the space in some of the new pieces from Ferragamo. I was impressed, I always looked to Ferragamo as a line my mother would wear but the pieces and even shoes I saw captured my heart. Some could go from work to cocktails and other was pure fashionista!

Giuliana Rancic reveals she has breast cancer

Giuliana Rancic host of E! News, Fashion Police, TV producer, reality star and wife of Chicagoan Bill Rancic revealed this morning she has early stages of breast cancer.

She will undergo surgery this week and six weeks of radiation. She credits trying to have a baby via IVF that helped detect it. Before her last round of in vitro, she had to get a mammogram, where she found out.

She is truly a sweetheart and very kind as I did an interview with her before. I wish her a speedy recovery.

Runners, sneaker lovers and curious minds came out Saturday to AKIN for the launch of the exclusive Chicago Lunarguide +3 running shoe from NIKE.

The special Lunarguide is for Chicago and much different from the +2. With a wide toe box, mid shoe strap to cradle the foot, more flexibility and dynamic supports, its great for beginner runners as well as vets like those preparing for the Bank of America Marathon.

DW by Kanye West SS 2012 fashion line – the debate

On Saturday Kanye West debuted his RTW line for women in Paris, simply titled DW. There were many critics opinions about the line from -- edgy and great, calling it hooker apparel and so forth.

I’m not understanding why people are saying they are hooker clothes and were designed for amber rose. I see wearable pieces. I have seen dresses and shirts, etc on the runway for Versace and other designers that are much more provocative than what Kanye presented. Which when you think about it, a fashion show it just that- a fashion show. Sometimes more “racy’ pieces don’t make it to the hanger or are tailored for everyday wear.

Are people mad because he presented a full fashion line in Paris? That he is living his dream? Am I not "into fashion' like I thought I was? I honestly don't get it but I wish I was a millionaire because the prices (if the line is ever released) is going to be bananas.

I remember what Chris Rock said: being rich is not about having money, it’s about having options....

I wish I had the OPTION of a clothing line.... GO Kanye!!!!!!!!!

Chicago’s Hyde Park welcomed a new and healthy addition to its neighborhood today. The Weight Watchers Jennifer Hudson Center opened on 1350 E. 47th St., Suite 135. The center will serve as a example of a healthy lifestyle and hopefully impact the community to lead healthier lives.

The unveiling was attended by Jennifer Hudson (above) and Mayor Rahm Emanuel. This is the first time that Weight Watchers has put one of its brand ambassadors' names on a center and Weight Watchers will donate a portion of the Center's proceeds to the Julian D. King Gift Foundation.

Personally I am a huge fan of Weight Watchers, after gaining some winter weight I went on the program and lost 15 pounds in 2 months.

I am proud that my neighborhood has this great addition and hopefully will serve as a motivation to individuals who seek to lose weight in a healthy and knowledgeable way.

On Saturday, Jill Kargman known for her bestselling books, “Momzillas” and “The Ex-Mrs. Hedgefund” ( I have read both. Hilarious!) was in town to sign and read: “Pirates & Princesses” a lighthearted children’s novel co-authored by Jill’s cute daughter, Sadie!
10% of the proceeds was donated by Jill and Sadie to support the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Rush University Medical Center.

Summary: Ivy and Fletch have been best friends since babyhood. But when
they get to kindergarten, they discover that the girls play with the girls and
the boys with the boys; suddenly Ivy and Fletch find themselves apart on the
playground, on the Princess Team and the Pirate Team. It isn't until Fletch
steps in to rescue Princess Ivy from pirate capture that they realize they miss
playing together.

Missoni for Target: I was there

I love fashion. I love capsule collections. I have never stood in line to experience first minute buying until Missoni for Target.

I was excited!! Beyond excited!!! More for the home goods rather than the clothing. I studied like a test, I knew what I wanted but unfortunately when it comes to collections like these you need a team to help you get your selections.

I arrived at 7:15 am finding a handful of people. I met a cool girl in line and we decided to shop together. By 7:45 there were about 100 people in line. I was nervous but we were off and running to get the clothing. I grabbed what I thought looked cute but that was my first mistake, thinking. I should have just grabbed! On to upstairs where we find people snatching plates and kitchenware by the bundles and people running down the aisle with luggage. It was a whirlwind and in the end I didn’t get much from location #1.

Me and my line buddy decided to go to location #2 where we find all the clothing racks empty and everything gone except media bins. “I’ll take two please.”

On to location #3 where ………. Items! Lovely items. Bundles of cosmetic cases, shoes, clothes and I got luggage!!! No home goods. We were exhausted and it was eleven o’clock. My mouth was dry and my stomach in pains but someone grabbed the last size 10 ballet slipper so I was off to location #4. Where I found my slippers!!! Still, no home goods. I was exhausted but giddy.

The people that do this every time a popular capsule collection is born, bless your souls. It’s too much! In the end after going through my purchases I will keep:

Carryon luggage
Notebooks
Media bins
Rain boots
Scarf
Eye mask
Cosmetic bags

The other items are currently on Craigslist. But no mark-ups!!! I’m not greedy, just too lazy to return.

Crazy stories heard: the man who was not allowed back into his home unless he had allllll Missoni plates from one location. He had a cart full!

A woman sent her husband all the way from Canada and well….. he didn’t make it to the store early enough. He managed to find scraps but not what was on her list. Poor man.

Kelly Osbourne has evolved from when we first met her on the The Osbournes reality show based on her family life. Recently to a fashion bombshell and a key fashion correspondent for E! Network and as a host on Fashion Police. Currently Kelly is the spokes model for Madonna and daughter Lourdes's Macy's clothing line Material Girl. For Fashion's Night Out she stopped by Macy's on State Street to showcase the line, take questions from the audience and pose with fans. Kelly told the audience that Lourdes does a lot of the designing for Material Girl and she has such an eye for fashion. Kelly feels that every girl and woman should have a good blazer, shoes and jeans in their wardrobe. Overall the event was fun and Kelly is even cuter in person! Exclusive: Fashion's Night Out interview with Kyle Richards of "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills"

Pictured hosting the Macy's Fashion show with Marcellas Reynolds

You never know when an opportunity will present itself. For me it happened at Macy's celebration of Fashion's Night Out. I was there enjoying the appearance of Kelly Osbourne (see post here) as well as anticipating the fashion show hosted by Kyle Richards and Marcellas Reynolds. Suddenly I was given the opportunity to interview Kyle of Bravo Network's successful franchise Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Known as the raspy voiced, raven haired sexy mom and actress of the bunch. I was thrilled and at the same time nervous! Thankfully I had a small notepad in my clutch. So I jotted down a few questions and interviewed the friendly Kyle (no personal pictures were allowed) who talked about what other adventures she will take on, how does she keep her hair so gorgeous and much more. She was a doll, from her Forever 21 jumpsuit she was wearing (she packed a different outfit but our weather prevented her from wearing it) to her Chanel pedicure she was Beverly Hills and more.

Mrs Windy City: Do you come to Chicago often?

Kyle Richards: I’ve been here two other times and I absolutely love it. All the buildings are so beautiful and its clean and summery. I love it. People are so lucky to live here.

MWC: What are your favorite places to shop at here in Chicago?

KR: You know I haven’t shopped here really, I’ve just been to different hotels and restaurants and I haven’t had the chance to shop other than Saks and Macy’s here.

MWC: How would you describe your style?

KR: I always struggle with that question. I really don’t know my style. I go with whatever feels good to me. I like to be comfortable except for my feet! (laughs). I always go through the magazines and see what the latest look is and what’s coming up. I don’t like to really buy into the trends, I like to stick with the classics and try to stay true to what works with my body. It’s just me, I’ve never had a stylist.

MWC: Must have items?

KR: I think every woman should have a great fitting blazer that she can put with a dress or jeans. That’s my favorite look, to just wear a blazer, a pretty blouse, jeans and heels. That look never fails me. I think a great dress that if you feel chubby, it’s always your to go to outfit and you'll feel good in it no matter what.

MWC: What’s your hair secret? You have such gorgeous hair that everyone talks about.

KR: My hair secret really is less is more. I don’t like to use heat, I don’t like to use hot rollers or a lot of products, I think that really damages your hair. Some people are neurotic about taking care of their skin, I’m neurotic about my hair. I’m cautious when I brush it, I don’t let anyone brush my hair. I go in the salon and I hear one little snag I’m like, “Give me the brush!” (laughs)

MWC: What is next for you besides Real Housewives of Beverly Hills?

KR: I have a book coming out, I’m working on it now. Basically I get a lot of questions on Twitter and Facebook. People always ask me how I juggle my marriage, my children, my career and everything. I wanted to address those and share what is important to me, my marriage, fashion, beauty and all those fun things. I just did a movie that came out on Lifetime called Deadly Sibling Rivalry, and I have another movie I’m shooting next month. I have a handbag line coming out because I am handbag obsessed!

MWC: Your role with Macy’s?

KR: I was invited to Fashion’s Night Out and I am excited because I love Chicago and I love fashion and I love Macy’s so I thought what a perfect combination to come out here and see all the new looks that are coming out. I’m here to have fun!

On the Scene: Fashion House Chicago presents RTW line Emalon

I have known Melissa Taylor, owner and founder of consignment store Fashion House Chicago (above talking before she presents the collection) as well as the creator of her fashion line Emalon for a very long time. I fell in love with her Chloe bag and vintage dress before I fell in love with her but that started a conversation of fashion between us that has never stopped. Throughout the years I learned that Melissa was a intern at CHANEL (how cool is that), assisted in prepping and styling models, and executed a range of trunk shows. Always fashionable, always nice and always an entrepreneur she has taken Chicago’s fashion scene by storm.

I was invited Labor Day weekend to witness her premiere for RTW line Emalon. The chic and sophisticated separates in lush fabrics was created for a urbanista who loves to not follow trends but make people notice. Also it served for her clients to become familiar with her new location as well as shop her inventory of consignment and vintage pieces. 6th annual TOQUE dining gala to benefit Children's Oncology Services, Inc.

The event is named after a toque, a tall, pleated white hat worn by chefs. This year’s event features an all star chef line up including Graham Elliot (Graham Elliot Restaurant, TV’s MasterChef Judge), Stephanie Izard (Girl and the Goat, Top Chef Season 4 Winner), Mindy Segal (Mindy’s Hot Chocolate), Ryan Poli (Tavernita), Cleetus Friedman (City Provisions) and more! The executive chef of the event is Michael Kornick of mk, dmk burger bar, etc. The event will also be hosted by Dr. Sandy Goldberg of NBC 5. They are coming together to benefit pediatric cancer patients and survivors.

Author Jill Kargman is best known for her novels “Momzillas” and “The Ex-Mrs. Hedgefund” and now she is releasing a children’s book, “Pirates & Princesses” with her daughter Sadie! How cute. They will be here at 900 North Michigan Shops on Saturday, September 17 on Level 5 from 2-4 p.m.

Dress up your pretty princess or brave pirate and join Jill and Sadie as they
share a story inspired by a kindergarten playground incident. “Pirates &
Princesses” is a lighthearted children’s novel that explores gender roles at
grade school recess. Best friends Ivy and Fletch get separated into the Princess
Team and Pirate Team but soon miss spending time with one another.

Refreshments will be served; princess and pirate costumes are
encouraged but not required. Books will be available for purchase, with 10% of
the proceeds being personally donated by Jill and Sadie to support the Neonatal
Intensive Care Unit at Rush University Medical Center.

The Playboy Club: Chicago ties

Two events I’m looking forward too? The Playboy Club series on NBC and the re-emergence of The Playboy Club here in Chicago. The club will hopefully open early next year, currently they are scouting a location between 10,000 and 15,000 square feet to house the major club. It will comprise of a high-end restaurant and lounge with bunnies which will be open to the public. Staying true to the old Playboy theme there also will be key-holding members.

Currently there are Playboy Clubs in Las Vegas, London, Macau, and Cancun.

What is this handbag craze lately? Personally it’s because Fall season is approaching which puts me in “back to school” shopping mode, though I am no longer a kiddie. This spring/summer, the IT bag was Furla’s Candy neon handbags. They came in a variety of eye catching colors like: hot pink, neon yellow, blue and green. The clear colored bags caused an uproar in the fashion community causing waitlists and feverish eBay auctions for the bags.

While I was browsing for a new fall bag I ran across three new Fall colors for the candy bag. Forest green, wine, and black.

Do you think the “candy” fad is over? Or are these still rockable?

I am a handbag girl. I love exotic and unique bags (yet inexpensive) that I won’t see swinging from someone else’s arm on Michigan Ave. The new A/W 2011 eco-friendly hand bags from Issey Miyake fits my bill! They come in many colors, shapes and sizes, around 50 designs and start at $250. Inspired by the metal panels that steel workers fuse together to create structures, the triangles are attached to mesh cloth to give it movement and the feeling of lightness. The bags also has adjustable leather straps and an interior pocket. While I have not seen them in stores yet, I will keep an eye out for these beauties.

They are certainly different and I feel that you would get a lot of attention and inquiries from true fashionistas and bag hags like myself.

It seems that every high end shoe has a lower priced cousin. Or is it blatant copyright infringement? Either way the Dior Tahiti Espadrille Pump is no exception, its cousin is the Jeffery Campbell Munroe. While the Dior has more elaborate details and a sleeker design the Munroe has a brighter color effect. The Dior will set you back $1550.00 while Munroe only $150.00.

Personally the pictures does the Munroe no justice, seen on a foot they are quite stunning and a great conversation starter. Although I hear they run very very narrow.

Every summer thousands flock to Chicago for the Chosen Few aka Old School picnic. Chicagoans and visitors mingle, bbq, drink and dance while enjoying legendary house music.

This Saturday, it’s time again to get out there and enjoy the music as well as run into familiar faces and meet new friends. What better way to do that than in style?

While the weather is always sunny and hot there are still some factors to consider: there will be a very large crowd of people (toes maybe stepped on), it is very grassy (stilettos should be kept at home), and dress to impress but not like you are going to the club.

On the scene: IMAGINE '11 annual fashion show recap and photos

On May 19th I attended the 32nd annual IMAGINE fashion show at the UIC Forum to see the International Academy of Design & Technology fashion show.

I started my relationship with the IMAGINE fashion show by IADT students last year and I hope that I continue attending the shows for years to come. It is so uplifting and mind-blowing the hard work and creativity that the students at IADT has towards their fashion careers. A fun fact that I learned is to be unbiased the designers blind submit their designs (worn by professional models) to a panel that scores on craftsmanship, creativity, color choice, fabric, etc. The highest scored pieces are then choose to be seen by the audience!

From furs to swimsuits to McQueen the show had fashion for everyone. I am also proud to announce the fashion show raised $17,000 for The Career Education Scholarship Fund (https://www.cesfund.org/) as well as Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicago and Northwest Indiana.

New Generation Fancy Drill Team

Hosted by Val Warner and with musical guest Kristinia DeBarge who gave a rousing and heart thumping finale of her song "Goodbye,” with the New Generation Fancy Drill Team from After School Matters. The looks on the audience faces were entertaining and priceless as a real live marching band stomped and sashayed down the aisle towards the stage to perform with Kristinia.

My favorite moment of the entire night was the Alexander McQueen tribute titled God Bless McQueen. Yes!!! It was everything I could have hoped for.

The MET Ball: My favorites

The MET Ball took place last night, the theme: Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty. There were a lot of hits and a lot of misses. I feel for the theme of the night there should have been more risk taking.

My top choices:

Daphne Guinness was in…. McQueen of course and the perfect execution of the nights theme.

Christina Ricci in a dress by Zac Posen. The dress was very detailed, well made and awe inspiring.

Margherita Missoni in what else…. Missoni. Her choice of accessories really complemented her dress and her bohemian lifestyle.

Jennifer Lopez in Gucci (a favorite brand and she is a spokes model)…the red was stunning as well as complimentary to her makeup pallet.

Hennessy VS’, Hennessy Remixed tour took Chicago by storm last week to re-introduce us to Hennessy and their new conncocations of drinks. Hosted by this year’s Lady Hennessy, Toccara (former America’s Next Top Model starlet), and master Hennessy mixologist, Jordan Bushell. they wanted to educate consumers on the blendibilty and versatility of Hennessy VS, and to present the four signature cocktails.

Several events took place: High-rollers reception at Horseshoe Casino on April 7th: Toccara and Jordan hosted a private tasting of Hennessy VS’ latest recipes, as well as its higher Marques, Hennessy Privilege, Hennessey X.O., and Hennessy Paradis for 300 guests. Jordan and Toccara also held a mixology session, and there was on-site cigar rolling.

Shrine Chicago on April 7th: Toccara and Jordan hosted a private tasting and mixology session for 200 guests. Hennessy also partnered with Chicago radio station, Power 92, for their 10th anniversary for being on-air. Guests included personality’s from Power 92, as well as local celebs.

Excalibur on April 8th: Toccara and Jordan hosted a private reception, and mixology session, for 125 guests for them to experience the latest drink recipes.

Luncheon at Park 52 on April 9th: Influencers from across Chicago came out to meet with Jordan and Toccara, as well as to sample the latest recipes.

PHLI Lounge at PHLI Worldwide on April 9th: Hennessy VS partnered with PHLI for an private reception hosted by hip hop artist, Freddie Gibbs, as well as Toccara and Jordan.

On Saturday, I attended the Media and Influencers luncheon at Park 52 in Hyde Park. Cool Hennessy sunglasses and silly bands greeted us we walked in the door. Drinks started appearing and it was time to taste.

Personally I was a little hesitant because I am not a cognac drinker at all. But I was willing to try.

We were given: Hennessy Apple (mixed with apple juice and an apple slice), Hennessy Berry (with cranberry juice),and Hennessy and ginger (with ginger ale). I was in love. My favorite was the Hennessy Berry and runner up Hennessy and Ginger.

We noshed on appetizers like ribs, chicken quesadillas, and a kabob of garlic chicken and peppers. Yummy!

Toccara was a sweet heart, mingling and interacting with us while even stopping by my table and noshing on the ribs she brought over. Great times!

The stylish attendees soaked up the variety of clothing options and new ideas for style. I had a blast!

After NeNe Leakes dropped major hints that she would be in Chicago, I had to know why.

It was because Girl and the Goat (owned by Top Chef Season 4 winner Stephanie Izard) were hosting a Top Chef finale party which were happening in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York simultaneously.

The cast of Real Housewives of Atlanta were in attendance (except pregnant Kim Zolciak). I heard that with the exception of Sheree, they were not social or gracious to the party goers, especially Miss NeNe. While other celebrity guests went to Gilt Bar after the finale, NeNe and the Housewives went to the weekly Super Fun Party at JBar where they continued to be antisocial….. WOW!

Indeed I engaged in watching the Basketball wives season 2 reunion. I was appalled at the way Evelyn and Royce went back and forth over LABELS. Labels honey. Your labels shouldn’t wear you. I know Evelyn rocked a HERVE LEGER dress that two other celebs have been seen in recently, she combined her version with those ultra cool Christian Louboutins and overboard she went. Royce: well Royce tried. She looked ok and cute but I absolutely adored Gloria’s dress (minus those pearls). So for a little fun, I decided to whip up a reunion outfit that I would rock (if I was ever on a reality show).

I choose an Alexander Wang dress and the Dior Spring 2011 sandals, I have been drooling over. I think I would have given them a run for their Leger’s….

We have a waterbased make-up which is often used in theaters. We also have an

also have a lipstain, which goes under your lipstick and gives it staying power.
“Living pigment” is a new product and is a pure pigment that can be added to any

Burberry Bespoke collection and the celebrities who wear them

Burberry Prorsum has induced a fashion frenzy with Burberry Bespoke. A biker themed line for trench coats and jackets that can be either be created by the customer or bought from the free standing line. Studs, leather, lavish belts and a variety of eye catching additions have found their way onto the sleeves of these coats. Lately, a lot of stars have hit the scene in these beauties that can cost up to $5000.00.

Emma Watson was the first to wear a studded trench, since she is the face of the line. Following were Kim Kardashian, LaLa, Monica and Kate Bosworth who showed up to Burberry’s London fashion week in an entire Burberry outfit.

Sarah Jessica Parker says “what?” to SATC prequel

A couple of weeks ago, I reported some rumors that there would be a prequel to SATC through Candace Bushnell's book 'The Carrie Diaries' and hermove from Connecticut to NYC in 'Summer and the City.' (releasing April 26th) Now Sarah Jessica Parker has commented (via Pop Eater):

Finally, Parker addressed rumors that a third 'SATC' movie would actually be a prequel based on Candace Bushnell's upcoming book 'Summer and the City' -- starring Blake Lively or Miley Cyrus as a young Carrie Bradshaw.

"I was like, 'Wha-a-a-a-t?'" she said. "I don't think we can pretend to go
back. It's creating two histories. It's like, 'Oh I didn't know that about
Carrie Bradshaw.'"

Blake Lively also said:

"No, that's not true. I'm a huge fan of the show and a huge fan of
Sarah Jessica Parker but unfortunately-well, fortunately-I'm starting this movie
['Hick']," she stated.

Sarah JP also spoke about a THIRD SATC movie:

"I would go back," Parker revealed. "I think there's one more story to tell. I
know there is." The actress, who also executive produced the first two 'SATC'
movies, thinks there is still life in the story of four best friends living in
New York City. But it might have to wait a few years."I'd definitely tell that
[third] story, and I know Michael [Patrick King, the director] would do it
right. But maybe not now. Maybe in five years, you know?" she said.The actress
explained why she'd prefer to wait: "It's not that I want to get away from
[SATC]. In a million years, who could get away from it?" Parker said. "If I'm
not scared again that's not good for me. That's literally no good for me. If I'm
not terrified and nauseous and worried the first two weeks of production, then
what's going to happen?"

I agree with SJP about creating two histories. When I read the prequel, I liked it, but also was sadden I had these two Carrie’s and could not relate to what I grew-up knowing about the TV/movie version of Carrie.
As far as a third movie in five years- no way! What would they be doing? Cashing out their 401k and visiting future retirement homes?

Quick question: how long can I wear suede shoes?

Suede shoes are absolutely acceptable all year round! Especially in warmer weather. Style rules have changed. Most suede shoes are designed for year round wear. You wouldn’t wear a peep toe suede bootie in the winter with the snow so the only way would be spring/summer. Also suede gets ruined in slush and salt if you live in a wintery area like Chicago. My absolute no no is if your feet are sweating in the shoes. To me, that means they are a colder weather shoe. Here are some great suede options…..
