Support Independent Retailer Month

I wasn't familiar with Independent Retailer Month but I’m glad I can share this and experience this event for the first time.  It is a global ‘Shop Local’ campaign that emphasizes local merchants roles in the community, economy and retail sector.

It is also for the independent retailer to show enhanced consumer engagement.

Here are awesome Chicago events that will take place.

 6th Annual Chicago Sidewalk Sale
Tuesday, July 17th  & Wednesday, July 18th,  from 9 am – 3 pm
Daley Plaza – 50 W. Washington St.

The two-day shopping event, held on, will be the perfect place to peruse an assortment of affordable apparel and accessories by Chicago designers and from independent boutiques.

§  AKIRA 10th Anniversary Party
Saturday, July 21st, from 1 – 8 pm

Inside & on the street outside AKIRA’s three Bucktown locations – 1814 W. North Ave. (Women’s) / 1849 W. North Ave. (Footwear) / 1910 W. North Ave. (Men’s)

At each location, shoppers with collect “stamps” and three stamps put you in the running to win a dazzling jewelry piece from Diamond Nexus. (Total value of prizes is $1,800.) Belly dancers, fortune tellers, and roving camels will add some spice to AKIRA’s usual smorgasbord of discounts, drinks, and DJs.

§  Red Carpet on Devon
Thursday, July 19th, 6 – 8 pm
Sahil – 2605 W. Devon Ave

Join us for a red carpet evening at local Indian Boutique Sahil.  Sip cocktails and sample appetizers while checking out the latest fashions from India.
